We advise in all aspects of consumer credit, ranging from the recovery of secret commissions by brokers and lenders for payment protection insurance policies, to the enforceability of loan agreements. In a society that is dependent upon credit, there are many instances where lenders and brokers take advantage of the unwary consumer. Recently, there have been a number of high profile cases, which have come before the Court of Appeal and House of Lords, where the Courts have found lenders to be either in significant breach of a loan agreement or sufficient breach of one aspect of the agreement. As a result, the consumers involved in the cases have either been entitled to a complete waiver of the agreement, or have been entitled to receive compensation resulting from the breaches committed by the lender and/or brokers involved.
We look behind all forms of credit agreements and consider whether the lender has breached the consumer credit legislation. We also consider whether you, as the consumer, are entitled to receive compensation as a result of that breach. In our experience, we have found that many consumers are entitled to receive such compensation.
